Toward a Basic Understanding of: Psychosis & Chronic Disorders

  

This educational series is presented by Seminole Behavioral Healthcare as part of its commitment toward a greater community understanding and response to those suffering from behavioral disorders. It is one of the six components of Mental Health First Aid. The objectives of this course are as follows:

  1. Define the major chronic behavioral disorders, including their basic symptoms, causes, and types
  2. Describe the basic symptsoms pf schizophrenia
  3. Describe the basic symptoms of bipolar disorders
  4. Understand how to best respond as a layperson to a person experiencing psychosis
  5. Understand how clinicians respond to those with psychosis
  6. Understand the basic resources in Central Florida to those with psychotic symptoms
